In a house the openings do not repeat and are not standardised the way a block’s are: every window can be its own size, and thick brick or aerated-concrete walls need the frame set differently within the reveal. Here the deep profile and low-e glass matter more, because the glazed area is large and you feel the heating bill directly. We measure every opening on site and build the windows to order in our own factory.

Frequently asked questions
Which profile should I choose for a house?
For a permanent home the 70 or 76 mm profile with a three-chamber unit is worth it: the glazed area is large and the heating difference pays back. For a summer house the 60 mm profile is enough. We will tell you honestly when the extra depth is not justified for how you use the house.
Can you make arched or trapezoid windows?
Yes, irregular shapes are made to order. Arches, trapezoids and the triangles in gable ends are routine on houses. For shapes like these we take the template on site rather than from a drawing, because masonry rarely matches the plan exactly.
Does the window move out of the wall if my façade is insulated?
When a thick insulation layer goes over the wall, the correct position for the window is further out, in the plane of the insulation, on brackets. Otherwise a thermal bridge forms around the window and you get condensation in winter. We discuss this at the survey, because it depends on the insulation thickness and the order of works on site.
How many windows a day do you fit in a house?
It depends on sizes and access, but on an ordinary house a crew fits between four and eight openings a day. A single storey with large windows we usually finish in a day; for two storeys we plan two. We give you a firm date after the survey, not before.
What exterior colours are possible?
Practically any colour from the RAL range, via a laminating film on the profile. The most-requested on houses are anthracite RAL 7016 and wood imitations. Two-sided lamination lets you have white inside and a dark colour outside. Dark colours are made to order, take longer and cannot be returned, because they are produced specially.
What warranty applies to house windows?
The same structure as any PVC window: separate warranty on profile, hardware and installation, written into the contract. The exact terms are on the warranty page. On large, heavy windows the first-year hardware adjustment matters all the more, and it is covered.
